Rain Barrel Workshop

A Rain Barrel Workshop will be held on Saturday, September 22, 9:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. at the UF/IFAS Polk County Extension Service, 1702 US Hwy 17 South, Bartow, Brenneman Auditorium.

Learn how to conserve water and prevent stormwater runoff by using a rain barrel. In this workshop you will learn how to turn a 55 gallon drum into a rain barrel. Attending the workshop is free, but if you wish to purchase a rain barrel the cost is $30 for each barrel (includes 55 gallon drum and spigot). Please indicate on your registration how many barrels you would like to purchase. Payment is check or cash only. Please pay at the door. To register for the workshop please go here

Master Gardener Training

Interested in learning about gardening?

Interested in teaching others about gardening?

Then become a Master Gardener!
Master Gardener Training is offered every Tuesday, September 11-December 6, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the UF/IFAS Polk County Extension Service, 1702 US Hwy 17 South in Bartow.
The Master Gardener program is designed to train volunteers to help the Environmental Horticulturist with his programs, which include taking homeowner telephone calls, working on demonstration gardens, working with school children, working with the disabled and the elderly and many more. After training is completed in December, you will be expected to contribute volunteers hours over the next year.
