Polk County Fourth Grade Students Learn About Agriculture at Agri-Fest

For two weeks in March, all Polk County fourth grade students visit the UF/IFAS Polk County Extension Service in Bartow to learn about the agricultural commodities that are important to the county. They get to taste honey and oranges, pot a plant, learn to conserve water using a water budget, and much more. For many children this is their first introduction to the rich agricultural history of Polk County. The Polk County Master Gardeners horticulture session features their international award winning youth activity.

This educational field trip is organized and presented by the Polk County Farm Bureau, local agriculture businesses, and the UF/IFAS Polk County Extension Service.

If you know a fourth grade student, ask them what they learned at Agri-Fest!
